- Yahoo blog360
- I thought it would be nice to have a group to get to meet other users of the new Yahoo 360 blog service. I like it so far. The blogs are very journalish with no template, I think that could get boring over the years. the yahoo features I had a chance to look at do look nice and a smart pick but it isn't very clear what it has and how to navigate around, or at least not to me. Some things could be merged to make it more accessible to us? Anyway I'm giving 360 a spin and having a look around what yahoo has to offer.

- I don't have a clue what to write but can force myself to write about this, not that that would make it an intersting one but this blog does needs a few more words by me and I have lots of those. I would like to anounce my latest template recreation, the image and the black in the background are new. (well at least for me and the blog) Can you give me an idea how it looks?

Yahoo! Local View my ratings and reviews of local businesses and services. (Reviews that meet Yahoo!'s review guidelines will appear on your Yahoo! 360° page within 2-4 days.)Sounds great? Well I did think so. [img] Were do I click now? Maybe on:

Thats the best they can do for a: "be sure to invite your business relations" kind of url? But were am I? Thats what I would like to know, and when can I start writing my review? So you've narrowed down your search and you're almost set on that new romantic, Italian restaurant with the great wine list.
Want to find out if it's worth it before you make your reservations? Use Yahoo! Local's ratings, expert reviews, and user reviews to help you decide whether a local business or service is right for you.
Read ratings and reviews. Star ratings provide "at-a-glance" information based on a 1 to 5 star scale while written reviews offer details to help you make a more informed decision. You can read professionally written editorial reviews or reviews written by locals like you. Access reviews and ratings from the details page of each business or service.
Write reviews and rate businesses you've used. Voice your opinion of the new Italian restaurant you just tried. Rate it and everyone will know how you felt. Write a review and everyone will know why you felt that way. It's easy. From the search results page, click directly on the "Rate this" link or click on the business you want to rate and then use the rating stars under the Ratings area at the top of the businesses' details page. After you've submitted a rating, you can write a review by clicking on the "write a review" link. By the way, you may rate a business and choose not to review it or you could choose to return and write a review at a later date. more

Can anybody submit a local rating or review?Yes. Anyone who has used a business or service can rate or review it for Yahoo! Local. We offer guidelines that specify what can and cannot be included in reviews. As long as those guidelines are followed, we'll post the review. As noted in these guidelines, businesses listed in Yahoo! Local are not allowed to post reviews about themselves or other listed businesses.

FAQ about Local Reviews
Go to Yahoo! LocalGuidelines for writing a review
Be objective and truthful. Tell us how you really feel and why. Useful reviews are detailed and specific, and give the reader a feel for your experience. Think about what kind of information you want when you ask a friend or coworker to recommend a restaurant, service, activity, or business. Here are some of the kinds of questions you might want to answer in your review:
- Did the experience meet or exceed your expectations? Are you planning to go back soon?
- How did this store compare to other, similar businesses in your area? Do you feel like you got what you paid for?
- What did you like or dislike? If you had to wait in line, was it worth it?
- Would you recommend this to your friends? Your parents? Your boss?
Stay "on topic".Present facts, not fluff. Was your soup lukewarm? Were the towels in the gym clean? Did the cashier smile and say thank you? Was the salesperson well-informed and helpful? Did the contractor finish ahead of schedule? Did the roof really stop leaking? Did the delivery arrive on time? Did the performance knock your socks off?
Try to keep it short.Write short sentences that stick to the point and focus on highlights of your experience. The recommended length for a local review is from 100 to 250 words.
Please:
Don'tspoil it for others. Don't abuse the service. Reviews should not harass, abuse, or threaten another's personal safety or property, make false statements, defame, impersonate someone else, contain profanity, sexually explicit, illegal or otherwise objectionable content, as determined by Yahoo! in its sole discretion.
Don't post personal information. Never assume that you are completely anonymous and cannot be identified by your posts. Reviews should not include personal information, such as email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers or credit card numbers belonging to you or others.
Don't post multiple or commercial reviews. Reviews should not include multiple posts by the same user or posts that have spam, commercial or advertising content or links.
Don't copy or otherwise infringe others' material, trademarks or other intellectual property. Reviews should include your own, original thoughts. We want to hear from you!
Don't upload HTML, viruses, or other malicious code. Reviews are for text only comments. Please help to protect the Yahoo! network.
Reviews are for Yahoo! Local users only. Our rating system is for Yahoo! Local users to help other Yahoo! Local users. Businesses listed in Yahoo! Local are not allowed to post reviews about themselves or other listed businesses.
OK Going back to The Yahoo LOCO page now! We're sorry we couldn't find that location. Please type in a different address, ZIP code, or city & state. Tip: The more specific your address, the more precise your results will be.
Ah I see, the zip code was wrong? Well excuse me for trying to use the service then? AH?
You ever hear about CET European time? Yahoo offers me London and Africa. Looking at the Yahoo calender I see that April Fool's Day is even an american feest. Damn I dont get to take part in anything here. It's like the google map fans that say I should go away and stop complaining. hahaha

- having a look around yahoo
- gg I was looking at the local stuff and miss previewd a review. I hope I won't get banned, it wasn't even that funny, I acidently commented on Amsterdam plumbers o deer.
I should be able to find some nice yahoo stuff, I do like the blog, the photos are to small and 1 per post is not always the right number but ok. I appear to have done a lot more research on how to show/view images. I didn't get it perfect but I'm still trying. Some variation in viewing is nice but I always see img hosts screw up the first impression.
tour NR 99 does have a bit of weird blur to it BUT the images are 1-2 kb in size so all 300 load just fine. The full view is just bigger no matter how you twist the words.
Posting a few per page gives a preview you don't want to click at all, but we all agree it doesn't show the picture as well as the full view.
I know now that each photo has an ideal size (or even better a range of size) it looks well in. Some look bad big some look bad small, some look fantastic in full screen some are great at 400px. Fixing the size just means "it's always the wrong size".
What other stuff did yahoo do :)
What is My Yahoo!? My Yahoo! is your own personalized version of Yahoo!. After entering some simple information, My Yahoo! allows you to collect all your favorite parts of Yahoo! and the Web in one place. You can choose what you want to see, like email, news, weather, stock prices, sports scores, TV and movie listings, and much more. It's like having an assistant to bring you your favorite sections of the newspaper and tell you about your mail and appointments for the day.
What is a public profile? Every Yahoo! ID or alias has a corresponding profile page. A Yahoo! Public Profile is a page that lets other users find out about you. Think of your public profile as your own page on the Web. Use your profile to let friends, family, and the world know about you. Post your picture, record your voice, display your interests, your latest news, cool links, and more. If you already have a home page, use your Yahoo! Public Profile to point people to it.
What is Yahoo! by Phone?Yahoo! by Phone is a service that lets you receive voicemail messages in your private mailbox, listen to email messages from Yahoo! Mail and other email accounts (POP mail) over the phone, and check Yahoo! information by phone. When you sign up, you choose your own 10-digit mailbox/account number and private 4-digit PIN. Your friends can leave messages for you in your voice mailbox, and you can check your voice messages from the telephone or on the Web through your Yahoo! Mail account. Use the phone to look up contact information in your Yahoo! Address Book and listen to stock quotes, sports scores, news, or weather. You can even listen to your personalized My Yahoo! information. You can do all this by just speaking your commands. For example, you can say "Listen to my email" or "Check my portfolios."Saturday, Apr 23, 2005 - 05:46pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link - Entry for April 23, 2005

I always get pissed after looking at yahoo services. It's always the same thing. I LOOK FOR 20 MIN ONLY TO NEVER FIND THE >>US ONLY<< DISCLAIMER.
> enable moblging for foreigners,
You found that the providers in that list look USA only? It's a crap description from here. Let's skip to: "you have no right to complain it's free, you should just go away"
So we move to Yahoo local, ohh! don't we have the same drill here? After reading 10 000 words I still don't know when yahoo local will be available here. For all yahoo cares the rest of the world doesn't exist ah? I get a foot size banner on the "personal page" SHARE LOCAL REVIEWS but were is the disclaimer? When can I remove this banner with useless info? If ever, when will the local stuff get here? Ah so I should look at this banner for the rest of my yahoo 360 day's? That means all non Americans users will be forced to go true the useless documentation that doesn't even describe it's own borders or defines it's own uselessness.
I am not some raving idiot, I am just really unhappy that I have to pull the dumb American card on you guy's.
I know you can't make a miracle happen but at least give me an idea about which 200 out of the 1000 services are not for the international community. Add stuff like CET? Central European Time? So can press C and it will jump to the C? Or make it a county list? A 100 times GMT +1 -1 +4 takes me +/- 10 min to find my local time. GMT:-01:00 Central European? Just spell the timezone?
Could you imagine I'm sick of looking at a service for 20 min only to find out I may not use it.
for example:
What do you think the rest of the world thinks if we install Netscape and it keeps asking for our US zip code, your zip code is incorrect! "The address you provide doesn't match the zip code". Would that make it an awesome experience? Let's use Netscape? AOL does the same. MS only did it to their msn web browser. So, I ask you: Did that become a success?
Will Y! 360 end like the browser wars? "You zip code does not compute, please supply a correct state name". Your country does not exist, please refine your search to something like flowers in Detroit.
Is yahoo business orientated?
German Chancellor Willie Brandt once said,"If I am selling to you, I must speak English. But if you are selling to me, dann mussen Sie sprechen Deutsch." (then you must speak German.)

- Trying to create a luxurious feel about products
- In No one knows how to do things the right way. I claim trying to create a feeling we experience as luxurious. This is best done by making sure the appearance of a thing is great and stays great. The staying great part is the real work, if the real thing is not what it appeared to be it's not luxurious at all. It should therefore be the exact thing promoted looking exactly as cool as it is, not a bit better. Read_more>>Monday, Apr 25, 2005 - 05:53pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link
- No one knows how to do things the right way
- I was thinking about webdesing and it struck me again how important it is to remove the ERRORS. Looking at the wrongs is a million times more important as doing the right thing. First stop doing the WRONG! It's pointless to do good if things get messed up by unfinished old work. The stack of old work only grows. - shooting the rider for what the horse did before he got on it
-
As I point out in my Entry for April 23, 2005 , the Y! services not just could..but should have the target customer defined AND let us know about future plans to expand. A simple you don't exist will not do.
Joe B commented "You're shooting the rider for what the horse did before he got on it."
Yes, I waisted my time because of the way it's set up. This means it will waist the time of all non us Yahoo visitors, and I 'm 100% sure I looked.
1) your opinion does not have value vs facts.
2) Talking about the writer has no value to the subject.
3) I indicate a problem but offer a solution.Joe B Yahoo! obviously doesn't have the legal position with the mobile phone providers outside the US.Why would that be obvious? I have a mobblogging button on my page, at least one of the links after that link should explain I can stop looking, at least one should say what the plan is on this. And having me look for 20 min does not look good.
Joe B Thus, you're going to have to wait on the moblog issue. Ditto, they do not have relationships with the directory providers like they do in the US, therefore no Yahoo! local outside the U.S.But never the less, having to thell me this after I read the whole about does look weird.
Joe B If you can do business in your immediate neighborhood and be satisfied with the result, how would you feel if I started casting dispertions on you about how your business isn't available to me in another continent?
I would be honored, I would try to understand and if it makes sense I would try to fix it.
Joe B I to am in an oft ignored region. But I choose to live here for a reason. And I respect the abilities and inabilities for businesses to reach me with their products and services. I don't spit on them when they are unable or will have a delay in reaching my area. Instead, I place a "welcome" mat and offer assistance when possible.Thats why I Explain this, like business as usual.
Mavros We non US residents are treated like second class netizens but yahoo is much better than e.g MSN (my hotmail is still 2MB, and no, I don't intend to pretend I live in Florida to get 250MB, I'll stick with yahoo thank you!)
As you can see, the thought to leave does pop to mind. This is not my opinion.Sunday, Apr 24, 2005 - 03:03pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link
- be open and enlightened
- In Everything people do is about communication. I explain how to "be open and enlightened", having no opinion on things not jet experienced. I say that if people enjoy a thing it can be enjoyed by people. A bad review from a non-user won't proof people can't enjoy it, it will fail to review the very subject because the thing reviewed was never used, the review is a lie. - Everything people do is about communication
- Trying to create a luxurious feel about products I make the point: Good communication would be the perfect place to start. For the simple reason that you can't improve things if you don't know they exist. Everything people do is about communication, good is not perfect. Perfect communication would be the goal we can never reach. Good doesn't come close to perfect, remember that for ever! Read_more>>Monday, Apr 25, 2005 - 05:56pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link
- Good communication would be the perfect place to start
- In Having to ask questions is not-so luxurious I make the point: "Good communication would be the perfect place to start. " if we are to accomplish the best results possible. Reasonable or good is not perfect, making things perfect may be impossible it should still be the main task. You will end up in the middle like that, halfway between good and perfect. I know things that are just good just ain't good enough to stand out. Read_more>>Monday, Apr 25, 2005 - 05:55pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link
- Having to ask questions is not-so luxurious
- In You should have done this and that.. I make it clear that "Having to ask questions" is "not-so luxurious". If a button doesn't say what the button does it's not a luxurious button at all. If the end user target audience or customer (or who ever your making this thing with the button on it for) needs to ask questions about it's use, it's user unfriendly and not properly documented. "the bad news is that Longhorn is going to look and run quite differently on those older systems".
And they make it sound as if users of older pc's will miss out on new features! They are nuts! This means Longhorn needs a whole new pc AND runs applications developed for a P3! It means the new OS will have ERRORS generated by different output!

Compact Menu allows you to reorganize the menu options on the menu bar in such a way that the user has more horizontal space on the menu bar to add buttons or other options.
StumbleUpon is a network of people and pages. It is a free tool which helps you browse, review and share webpages while meeting new people.
allows the current page or a selected link to be opened in Internet Explorer.search and tweak software
The Lookahead extension for the Firefox browser was created to provide for efficient usage of time while a user performs Google searches.
PRGooglebar is a modification of the Googlebar extension for Mozilla and Firefox. It adds the long awaited Pagerank to the toolbar
This extension provides a comprehensive UI for changing a number of the hidden tabbed browsing preferences in Firefox. It also provides the ability to control how internal and external links are opened in the browser and how the browser will react when links are sent to it.
SearchBox AutoUpdater is an extension for the browser FireFox. This extension enables to automatically update the searchbox words when you're searching directly in the search engine.
Normally when you open lots of tabs in Firefox they each become narrower and narrower, and eventually just disappear off the end of the tab bar. With the flowing tabs extension installed the tabs instead wrap around onto multiple rows when required. Do not try to use this in conjunction with Tabbrowser Extensions, as it will break. Tabbrowser Extensions includes this functionality anyway. Don't use in conjuction with Tab X, or each tab will end up occupying a line of its own.
The Googlepreview extension inserts preview images (thumbnails) of web sites, Amazon products and stock charts into the Google and yahoo.com search results pages. Thumbnails are provided by thumbshots.org and alexa.com .
Scrollbar Anywhere Extension Scrollbar Anywhere allows to scroll the page as if the scrollbar is under your mouse pointer. Just hold the right (or any other) mouse button down and move the mouse.Make a website

The Smile Project is an online database of smilies, used by Smiley Xtra 3. All the smilies in the database are submitted by users of The Smile Project, so if you find a smiley you like, don't forget to share it!
Advanced Eyedropper, ColorPicker, Page Zoomer and other colorful goodies. Notepad++ is a free source code editor which supports several programming languages running under the M$ Windows environment.
HTML VALIDATOR (based on Tidy)Language tools
Small extension that translates web pages (via toolbar button) or selected text (via context menu) from and to different languages. Uses BabelFish and Google translation engines.
Occasionally you need to check the spelling of words in an application that does not include a spelling checker and you don't want to launch your word processor just for that. This is when tinySpell becomes handy. It is a small utility that allows you to easily and quickly check the spelling of words in any Windows application. tinySpell monitors your typing on the fly and alerts you whenever it detects a misspelled word. It also checks the spelling of every word you copy to the clipboard. tinySpell installs itself in the system tray for easy access. It comes with an American-English dictionary containing more than 110,000 words.
SpellBound is a port of the spellchecker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer that enables spell checking in web forms such as html textarea / input elements (html input password elements are not checked by SpellBound) and rich text form elements. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. message board posts, blog entries, wysiwyg, etc.) before submitting them when using your Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Suite browser.
Translate Page passes the current page to Google 's Translation Service and was made upon request to directly mimmick a feature of the Mozilla suite within Firefox.Monday, May 2, 2005 - 10:23pm (PDT) 3 Comments | Permanent Link - Entry for May 02, 2005

- If you had a chance to look at my previous few postings you see Flickr has a tag system and a community going on. Hello has the superior picture size and load speed, I never seen 1 image that didn't load in hello but did put over 1000 online now. (at least my) Flickr hosted pic's load only 29 out of 30 times.
The huge problem with hello is that no one would ever find your pictures. I think that beats posting them at 300 px. My desktop is 2300 px .... To me, this means "I didn't see the photos" at all.-

(may have to load the main page first http://fototour.blogspot.com/ )
Now that shows my picture! You really see it like this! To bad no one would ever find a blogspot blog. hahaha I have about 50 pictures for each visitor, the horrible size flickr thumbs have about 5 views each. Thats 250 times as many!!! 24 900% more page views.

No, we won't have anything as great as google here for some time to come BUT are not to proud to joke about the stuff we lack. We reason with valid arguments and love to hear different opinions.
Americans don't even know what the word argument means. It is related to the lack of rational thinking, "argument" is used in 200 other languages. It's a reason for or against an idea. evidence or proof. The word does not relate to having a fight. But your nation wide lack of arguments does hold great evidence of something. haha
If 2 people disagree they don't have an argument at all. It's even the other way around, people can only disagree thanks to a sufficient lack of arguments. We Europeans construct a discussion from our arguments this will allow us to agree on the subject at the end of the discussion.

- webdesign eeeeuuwww :(((
- I want to help a few friends set up a better website for their business. They currently have 5 pages set up with a web based wysiwyg editor. But their list of second hand cars, boat and jet skies will only grow and it really should be in a manageable database from both the (web)customer and the business point of view.
So far...
...I made up: to post the items on 3 blogs just to create 3 rss feeds to keep track of the updates.
...I had a look how a business should use a buy/sell sites like ebay.
...had a look at a few content management systems to build a community.
Now the biggest problem is keeping everything up to date.
How to put the items in an database and put the database online with a content management system, could even have the cms use some online store module but how tot put it on ebay or any of the other sites? I want simple sortable lists by subject on the website and an overview for the store owner. The owner should be able to post in a list of auctions in an easy way. And keep track of this.
I want to figure out how he could do this and would like to expand to include more as 1 store in 1 interface, thats why the community is required. Leme hear what you think.Thursday, May 5, 2005 - 08:42pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link - Best tutorial on rss you've ever seen.
- the best way to learn how site feeds work is by using em.
Download: firefox > sage
Instalation: Restart firefox after sage is instaled
Usage of sage & firefox: First find an XML icon on a wepage. (You must have seen one by now)
now click: view > sidebar > sage > click the hour glass > and add the feed
The rest speaks for itself.
in this posting you should discover a lot of feeds, go try it out and post me a comment or a question.

I don't know if it's possible but the permalink would look a lot better changed from:http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-ooVnzrU3eqXHKSdB2TQ.j3cMn.tCeQ--?p=225
into:http://blog.360.yahoo.com/Factuurexpress&p=225
The first one looks like a referral link, no way I would ever remember that. Cant even see who's blog it is. I know it's not a permanent name but only a few would ever delete their name? And if I would I would want the permalinks to break to, thats the whole idea of deleting a name isn't it?--||--
If you peeps are really interested in Y-360 turning into a professional service....
- ...you pay us for advertising on our blog and ...
- ....you pay us for the prints we sell and...
- ....you offer us a list of products we can promote and past the add in our posting in 1 click....
I would be motivated to explain why I use a product. Just that tool would make it a superior blogging service,
For example: Lets say I'm writing a post about my Ipod, then you give me a set of banners to pick from.
www.wrongdesign.blogspot.com--||--Add a shop were we can spend money on our blog. I want to show my photo's in 1024 px, could let me pay 1 cent per year per for each? I would upload 3000 today? And how would the blog look?
You can't argue my pictures should be shown in this low resolution "they are mine", you don't get to ruin the first impression of my photography or my collection unless I let you. You've build in a guarantee for yahoo photo to have bad photo's at horrible resolution. By claiming the ownership of my pictures (haha?) you only prevent me from using it.

*update*
It's actually useful, it preloads pages in an some what different way. I have enough catch set up so it does little more as show what links are preloaded and I think it preloads a few of the first google search results. This is kind of cool sins I was using the lookahead extensions to open/preload results in separate tabs.

The yahoo slideshow that is just so small it's safe to call it a preview slideshow. Not close to usefull, "Did get to see the image, now it aint new anymore, but didn't get to enjoy it, expirience ruined"
The Photobucket that is limited to 25 MB (or 25$ per year) a really fast host but you will need to add the width="150" height="120" to the generated tags by hand. (use textpad hilight src=" click F8 type width="150" height="120" src=" click replace all and past it in the html source of your post)
The flickr photo set has an actually nice preview size but the large image isn't large at all.
The normal Flickr preview (that points at the same small image as the sets)
Just open your Flickr page in a new window and drop the tumbs in the yahoo post. Just the way you would imagine it would work. Hold down the mouse on the image and drag it into the editor. (not the html source) -
- On the left is yahoo360----------------on the right is my flickr page.

- What the blog is going on?
- Blogger has it's mobile blogging up and running for some time now, I didn't spot any blogs made with it jet but I do know this is the ULTIMATE blogging tool sins sitting here makes me want to write stuff about using my computer, thats on my mind because I sit here. By simply writing the post from random locations it's just impossible to stay in the computer topic. A laptop would bring the mood back to a desktopish vibe because you have to set up the thing. And going out with a digital camera makes me look for things to take pictures of. If the camera phone has a normal price I can forget about it and grow a real blog instinct...snap ... type . .. post... And it would have that swell improvisation thing to it. If it's cheap and easy it can be a great habit, I think a professional blog is to be a great resource of information it takes a lot of work and time, or should I say waists? I simply try to say that anyone can update 5 blogs twice per day in the mobile way. If your trying to explain stuff in your blog it makes a great way to get to know you. Anything you can slap adds on is potentially worth money.
10 per day is over a million posts in 30 years. Think about that for a sec.

- you dare call that a webserver?
- I've sad it before and I will say it again, if you make software you better never ever use a text documents to set up basic configuration. They claim apache is for advanced users. Isn't that the kind that costs 200$ per hour? Thats an expensive check box they didn't make. I'm far from being anything close to an advanced user, should I buy the 200$ help for installation? How retarded are they?
How do hackers run applications on my pc if this "advanced use" application cant even manage to install itself? They are advanced beginners. Thats what they are. In my book there is no excuse for failing to explain the obvious. After 2 day's I can say Apache is teh suck! WOW what a horrible tool (if it is a tool).
This posting is really a tribute to Jim for pointing me at a more useful server application, one that even includes a tutorial with the installer. Gratzz Jim, that was cool.Friday, May 13, 2005 - 10:25am (PDT) 2 Comments | Permanent Link - Posting images is eazy, just drag and drop. A total of 1 mouse click. You can do this!

I think the words "drag and drop" are to hard to understand? The image below shows what drag and drop is. I drag the image from the flickr page to the yahoo post in the other window.
What could be so hard to understand about this? thats what I would like to find out.

- I like how clean the blogs are here, they load fast and I can quickly start reading the post. Firefox can be set to open all bookmarks in a folder on middle click. It's great to open a lot of blogs and browse around. Big fun until background tunes start playing. I do think voice comments would be amusing but A blog should never make noise on load. If your visitor is in the mood for music he can turn it on himself. No one likes to hear 2 things at the same time.
Something I made earlier.

- What an amusing man, he must have called the senator 100 names now(live on cnn). Galloway says prepared for US Senate 'lynch mob' I hope you get a chance to see the full speech, it's hilarious. Brits will always speak their mind. This looks more like Galloway is lynching the US Senate.
He is furious about having to defend himself after they accused him without consulting him. He claims 18 billion (us money) vanished into the pockets of us officials. Kick backs were payed by us oil companies.
He was against the oil for food program because he believed it would end in a mass grave. 0.03 cent per head didn't look like food to him. Add to this "the the war was illegal". I would have to agree?

.Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 08:53am (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link - current world events
- I was asked:
Gaby, my husband and I took a trip to the southwestern part of Puerto Rico this weekend -- there I wondered what you'd say about Puerto Rico and U.S. in general if anyone asked for your opinion... what would you opine about Puerto Rico and the U.S. in current world events?my opinions:
Interesting question, I try really hard to not have an opinion on things if I don't know all the little details.the U.S. in current world events:
About us politics, I can say that we have 80 party's to pick from in Holland and only 16 000 000 people. Having only 2 presidents to pick from on 300 000 000 people is a huge violation of your rights.
Having options on a ballot that could never result in a president being elected is clearly wrong. Having different ballots is wrong all together. What I would like to know is who is empowered to remove the very options from ballots that other states offer people as real presidential candidates.
Simple question: Who has the right to remove options?
If only 1 state would remove one option they have changed all other votes in all other states. What gives Texas the right to change/manipulate/screw the results of new York elections?
I can say for a fact that Bush is a dictator, that a simple truth isn't it?
But an opinion I don't have yet. It could be that Sadam was already using his weapons in the us. This kind of war tools can take 50 years to start working/showing. Maybe bush was the only way to attack/defend.
One thing is for sure, they didn't tell us half the story.

The incredible shrinking technology
Nanotechnology used to be a playground for speculation and science fiction. It is now one of the most exciting research fields in contemporary science. It is true that nanotechnology has been heralded as the "next big thing" for years and the excitement surrounding it certainly increased after the dot com bubble burst and people started looking for another wonder technology. Nevertheless, despite the hype, big strides have been taken and more are imminent.

Entry for May 20, 2005 Search History enables you to easily access and manage your Google search history from any computer. Your history is now accessible to you through the "My Search History" links that are located in the upper right corner of your Google.com homepage and web results pages. You can easily pause this feature by clicking on the "Pause" link above, or you can delete this service through the "My Account" link.
Go to Google to start searching and watch your search history grow.
Save all your searches with this forgotten google feature. It's called "My Search History".
Google search history
So strange... I've never heard anyone talk about saving searches
before, until Google released the feature. Suddenly everyone is asking
for it (people who don't know it exists)...
I guess they all heard about it, but were unsure, or seen similar
services (Google wasn't the first with this one...).

Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 07:40pm (PDT) 0 Comments | Permanent Link - my submited feedback
- Dear yahoo 360 peeps,
please, don't make this another slow blogging service. Speed is a really awesome feature.
Blogger and msn space cann't be navigated at all. The overal loading is just idiotically slow. Atm I can load about 10 yahoo360 blogs in the same time as a blogspot.
This simply means I view 50 times more yahoo blogs as blogspots. I can't even open all my friends blogs on blogger. That takes all day.
I would love to enlighten you on the fact that everything that doesn't make reading and posting faster is not helping us to read and post. It's even distracting.
The blogs could look cool with flash and banners, but I think they should be cool by writing only?
The web has both readers and viewers. They don't mix at all.Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 09:24am (PDT) 5 Comments | Permanent Link - terminate friends
- I removed the friends that didn't do anything with their blog. (no profile no blog ect) I think it looks wrong to have a link like that mixed with bloggers that actually made something.
Are you still connected to non bloggers?

- I would like to find a way to post 1000+ pictures, in this format(preloaded), on the blog, each day.Monday, May 23, 2005 - 07:07am (PDT) 4 Comments | Permanent Link
- This is a view of your 28 most popular photos, ordered by the most views.
Your 28 views on flickr out of 200 new pictures.
I'm trying to show my new photos but it's impossible to ask a blog visitor to view 200 photos on flickr, it takes over an hour. In other words, it's now impossible to view just one day of postings. So I'm trying to find a logical way to enhance this posses. I think showing them at random or maybe I should just link to the slideshow? http://flickr.com/photos/enkhuizen/show/Monday, May 23, 2005 - 03:10am (PDT) 5 Comments | Permanent Link - Entry for May 21, 2005

- A new phone or is it a camera, and why isn't the salesman as smart as the phone?
- I've been reviewing the various phone contracts I can sign up for, the more calling minutes in the bundle the bigger the discount on the device. The mms messages do come in bundles but they do not add to the value of the phone. I don't want to send mms becasue that has no text formating and it allows only 1 image per messag. Paying per 1 picture message is not intersting.
A WIFI and LAN enabled camera with FTP and gps would be nice, but I dont have the 3000 €
